Cerebral sparks

sparks in my mind unleashed online

The night was deep, darkness unfolded itself,
A lonely dog wailed and I tried to console myself.
I closed my eyes and a drop of tear rolled down.
The pain was excruciating, and my face turned into a frown.
I tried to swallow the sorrow and the grief;
it was then I heard the voice of an angel brief.
I opened my eyes, to glare into the thick black blanket,
The vision gloomy, my eyes glistened wet.
I heard it call my name, again and again.
I prayed so hard, but in vain.
It beckoned me to heaven, away from this world
That had given me misery and sadness untold.
It promised me no pain and infinite softness
And above all the pleasure of ultimate hapiness.
It asked me how long I should fight this war
That I am sure to loose, my mouth turned sour.
Why I have to push through this battle internal
and why I try to evade the mighty Lord's call
And I closed my eyes and prayed for just one more chance
so that I have the strength to wrestle myself out of this trance
And it replied that it had heard it all before
That I cannot take this unjust and grief anymore.
I felt my heart loosing hope and whispered sorry
The angel vanished and my name echoed faintly.
